Sports That Have Inspired Artwork

Artists have a unique ability to see beauty all around them, whether this be a picturesque landscape like 'The Starry Night' by Vincent Van Gogh and 'The Hay Wain' by John Constable, or a portrait like the 'Mona Lisa' by Leonardo da Vinci and the 'Laughing Cavalier' by Frans Hale. This allows them to produce works of art that capture complex human emotions into a single still image.

If you were asked to predict James Anderson’s 600th wicket, you would have probably said it would involve an outside edge to the slip cordon, after the batsman failed to negotiate an outswinger that the 38-year-old is so famous for. The man born in Burnley has made a living out of that delivery, which is very much his stock-in-trade, and it didn’t let him down against Pakistan on a blustery afternoon in Southampton when he achieved the milestone.

The White T-shirt – A Canvas of Expression and Style.

So, as the nation bathes in an Indian Summer, with beautiful sunshine during mid-September, so I take a look at a fashion staple. It doesn’t belong to any particular style, although some style tribes may have appropriated it more than others. There is no doubt though, that at some point all of us will have worn one. Either simply to be cooler in hot weather, or as an extra layer beneath a shirt or sweater. I am of course writing about the simple white t-shirt.
