Taking a local step back to look forward, this new event is being launched to celebrate the history of one of London's oldest street markets by taking Lower Marsh back 50 years to its 1960s heyday and most successful era!

This festival of 1960s music, art, fashion and culture includes:

•    Scoot The Thames 6 - a vintage scooter rally across London's bridges from Tower Bridge to Waterloo Bridge with hundreds of scooters riding out along the Thames
•    DJs - 60s clubs in Waterloo bars:
SIDEWINDER@ Carriage 34 – Rhythm & Blues / 60s soul / ska
RICKY TICK@ The Duke of Sussex - 60s mod-inspired music from the Stones to Motown

•    MR SIXTIES Photographic exhibition – Legendary photographer Phillip Townsend will be talking about his career and launching an exhibition at the WAC gallery including pictures never seen before
•    DIGGING YOUR SCREEN @ CAFÉ DEL MARSH – 60s music and classic 60s films in the garden on the big screen including Antonioni’s Blow Up which was partially shot in the area

•    Vintage market - vintage clothes, scooter spares and many more themed stalls inside Waterloo Action Centre

This major new free event celebrating London's modern cultural history runs from 12noon to 7pm on Sat 26th July.
