ZANI and are getting a few bands together, to play some cracking live music to celebrate the official Countdown release of ZANI editor Matteo Sedazzari's debut novel A Crafty Cigarette, Tales of A Teenage Mod.
A unique story of a disenfranchised teenager coming of age in the late 70s. On the cusp of adulthood he discovers a seminal band , The Jam, which leads him into becoming a Mod, nattered by the key character throughout his journey.A mischievous youth prone to naughtiness, he takes to the Mod ethos like a moth to a flame, taking our hero on a series of adventures that will colour his life forever... A Crafty Cigarette comes with a special foreword by the punk poet laureate-in-waiting, the one and only Dr John Cooper Clarke, who says “I couldn’t put this book down... because I couldn’t put it down”

Listen to the supremely talented songsmith Simon Wells and his six string, paint the room with heartfelt messages of love, peace and chaos

Acoustic Duo Autumn Stone will take into a magical musical journey of Mod and beyond.

Get frantic to the hard edged, post punk, garage sound of those well-dressed rascals from London, Friends of Luca Brasi

Be enthralled and enchanted by the exquisite Mod vibes of The Special Guests featuring Enzo Esposito of the legendary Mod revival combo Squire!, who will round off the evening with a toppermost selection of Mod and Northern soul tunes, an apt and fitting tribute to a book all about the Mod revival of 1979!

About Us

ZANI was conceived in late 2008 and the fan base gradually grew by word of mouth. Key contributors came from those of the music, film and fashion industry and the voice of ZANI grew louder. So, when in 2013 investor, contributor and fan of ZANI Alan McGee* offered his support to help restyle and relaunch the site it was inevitable that traffic would increase dramatically and continues to grow. *Alan McGee co-founder of Creation Records and new label 359 Music..
